Welcome to our website. Most of our visitors are already members of the Society and are looking for detailed information or contacts –based on their feedback this website is intended to make things easy for them. We apologise if you are a member of the public keen to find out more about lifesaving and find this site a little intense! PLEASE DON’T WORRY!

If you are interested in learning lifesaving, perhaps as part of your Duke of Edinburgh Award or GCSE PE,then click on the “CLUBS”tab and try to find a club near you.

If you are interested in becoming a Pool or Beach Lifeguard, then click on the “COURSES”tab and find an NPLQ course near you.

If you can’t find what you are after, please call the Branch Lifesaving Coordinator, whose details are on the “BRANCH EXECUTIVE”page.

Best wishes

  • We always need people with passion

The Branch is ALWAYS keen to have members with an interest get involved in its activities. If this is YOU please contact the Chair or BLC straightaway.

CURRENT NEEDS:We hope to establish a new club in the Farnham area. Whether you have never been involved before,or are an experienced TA,could you help start it up? We shall support you thoughout, but we need someone who is keen and prepared to make it happen.

Whatever your interest, let us know and we will try to find a way of involving you.

  • Surrey Branch AGM

Thank you all for attending the Branch AGM at the Spectrum Leisure Centre on Monday April 4th. Thanks too for all your ideas and thoughts that emerged during the workshop afterwards. We are putting some into place straightaway and will follow up later. I know that some of you had some ideas for your particular communities –if there’s anything we can do to help you make these happen, just ask.

If you would like a copy of the Chair’s report it is here:Chair\'s report RLSS Surrey 2010-2011 to download.

If you would like a copy of the workshop slides, they are here:AGM awareness raising session.

  • The New Survive and Save Programme

Most of you will have all seen the news in the latest copy of Lifesaver Magazine, but we wanted to remind those of you who are Trainer/Assessors of the next important step that YOU need to take.

FIRST - You need to get a copy of the New Lifesaving Manual for Instructors

The new manual is the comprehensive resource for Lifesaving trainers. If you choose to purchase your own manual (which was available from 1st August 2011),you can order by visiting their site (https://www.lifesaversdirect.co.uk/products/pb3000/) or telephone the order hotline on 0844 824 3440

SECOND –You need to complete the online multiple choice update assessment.

There are two routes to choose from. Option 1 is for those existing TAs who wish to just carry on training and assessing. Option 2 allows you to run courses in your club for future Lifesaving Instructors.

We will probably be running an update evening for the Branch where questions can be asked and experiences shared around the new awards and the extra skills that candidates need to demonstrate. Further details will be posted on the website soon.
