Open Water Orientation module – Sunday 21 Sept 2014 (Eastbourne)

As a Survive and Save Instructor, you are qualified to conduct the POOL based activities. However, much of the excitement around the new programme lies in its open (still) water and beach components. Not offering these is depriving your candidates of a great deal of fun and experience.

To train and assess pupils you are expected to have one of three qualifications:

  • Trainer/Assessor (Beach)
  • Trainer/Assessor (Lifesaving) with T/A(Open Water) endorsement
  • Survive and Save Instructor with Open Water Orientation endorsement

If you are a Survive and Save Instructor and would like to take part in Open Water (both still and beach) training then you need to have attended the RLSS UK Open Water Orientation course. PLEASE LET THE BLC KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND THIS COURSE.

We will be running this programme alongside the Branch Beach weekend at Eastbourne (20/21 September 2014). This provides a unique opportunity to not only gain the endorsement but also to put into practice your open water training and assessing skills in a controlled environment to build your own confidence.
