Branch Open Water Weekends 2018 – Southwater Park

  • 30th June & 1st July 2018
  • 1st & 2nd September

Each weekend there will be a focused two days on the Open Water element of the RLSS Survive and Save Programme.

This will include a range of individual and team activities: teaching, training, and assessments, as well as an Open Water Instructor endorsement course (subject to demand).

Please bring a packed lunch, towel and clothing to swim in – if you have a wetsuit it would be very sensible to bring it with you! There are hot showers and a cafe on site too.

Provisional timings: Saturday & Sunday 11am to 4pm.

NB In the past, some trainers have simply arrived and expected their candidates to be assessed immediately without any training in this environment. This is NOT in the spirit of the Survive and Save programme which focuses on PRACTICE, acclimatisation, and the development of skills and confidence. PLEASE expect to come along and take part in two days of activity, of which the assessment may be a small part. Anyone arriving on the second day expecting to be assessed is unlikely to be included.

If you are interested in attending, please let Alison Angiolini or Graham Wilson know ASAP.
