Assessors

If you have difficulty finding a TA who is available, please contact the Branch Lifesaving Coordinators who will be glad to assist.

This list is of people who are qualified trainers and assessors for the various disciplines within Lifesaving within the Branch.

Before approaching them to conduct an assessment, you should be sure that they hold the relevant qualification. For example, only a minimum of “TA –Lifesaving”can assess lifesaving awards, and only a minimum of “TA –Pool Lifeguard”can assess that qualification.

There is a hierarchy within teaching qualifications, from Assistant Teacher, through Teacher,Trainer/Assessor (TA),Mentor,National Trainer/Assessor (NTA) to Staff National Trainer/Assessor (Staff NTA). Most of the awards can be assessed by the relevant TA and above.

It is the responsibility of organisers’of courses to ensure that the TA they have booked, meets ALL the relevant criteria for the assessment. For example,to assess Bronze Medallion candidates, they should be in current membership, hold a valid card of authority, have a current Life Support 3,and your club may expect them to have evidence of a recent Criminal Record check.

BE WARNED –these criteria ARE checked by HQ staff and awards issued following an invalid assessment ARE declared void.

This list is in ALPHABETICAL surname order. You should search it for the most suitable assessor. We have included their HOME TOWN and POST CODE. Please remember that not all T/As offer a voluntary assessment service.

If you discover any errors or inaccuracies,PLEASE advise the BLCs as quickly as possible.

PLEASE do NOT print this list out –it is constantly being updated and amended –you need to work from the current list online.
